My friends and I have been really impressed with the quality of the material, stitching and wear-ability of the pirate costumes. I had to run through the pouring rain last year and when I got home, my costume was in great shape. I was hoping the it wouldn’t fade on the car seats on the ride home and we were fortunate it did not. My girlfriends and their husbands also can attest to the fact that they are quality costumes…you get what you pay for.
The only complaint that I have had was one of the costumes came with boots. They just did not fit right and the zipper was bad in them. I contacted the company right away and they sent out another pair! I was impressed with how fast the turn around was. I encourage you to take a look in your closet for some boots that may be a perfect fit for your adult pirate costumes.
My girlfriends and I are always sharing things to help make costumes so use them as a resource as well. I encourage you to try to make your own if money is tight…it is not that hard with the items you may have on hand. In fact, high quality pirate costumes can be created right out of your friends’ and family’s closets!
If you are going to try to make your own quality costume, there are a few steps that you must take in order to fully utilize the pirate costume ideas. A pair of old black or white or black striped pants can be used and you can simply decorate with various ‘bling’ you have around the house like old chains, rings, ear rings, etc… You can cut the pants part way up the leg creating short or long frays across that area. A loose fitting shirts can be used and look for stripes if possible. Using large metal belt buckles, pirate eye patches and scarf tied to your head will put the finishing touches on this beautiful costume. The more fancy and elegant your supplies and makeup for the costume, the more positive the comments at your next party or trick-and-treat night with your kids!

We just got through watching the Pirates of the Caribbean series this past weekend on the satellite. I’m surprised that they haven’t done a storyline involving female pirates. I realize that they do have the story with Elisabeth, but I mean someone to come up against Jack would be a great storyline.
We had an awesome time last year dressnig up as pirates for our Halloween fancy dress party, we still have the costumes so we may do the same this year as pirates still remain popular.

They really do have some fun and sexy pirate costumes available for women in today’s market. I remember not too long ago when pirate costumes were typically available only for men.
